WhiteGate Sanctions & Risk Screening
WhiteGate is a public-interest compliance initiative developed and maintained by Black Swan Consulting. It provides free preliminary access to selected official sanctions, enforcement and risk databases.
Sanctions screening
A document or TIN match confirms the person regardless of how the name is spelled.
Sanctions lists Official lists of states and unions
Special databases Presence in them is not an offence — it is a reason to look closer
Wanted-persons check
Search across wanted databases. Interpol is queried live, directly from your browser — its public API only answers individual requests.
Uzbekistan PGO
Uzbekistan Prosecutor General — forms 5–12
Europol
Europol — EU Most Wanted
Interpol
Interpol — public red notices, queried live
Debarment check
Firms and individuals debarred from World Bank procurement. Cross-debarment is mutually recognised by ADB, EBRD, AfDB and IDB.
Sanctioned-goods check
Searching by HS / commodity code (4–10 digits) is recommended — it is the most reliable way. A name search is also available (common Russian terms are translated automatically). Codes are checked against the Common High Priority Items list (EU/US/UK/Japan battlefield goods) and live restriction measures of the UK Trade Tariff.
Check a crypto address
Exact match against sanctioned wallet addresses (OFAC digital-currency lists). Paste the full address.
Jurisdiction risk
Whether a country appears on FATF and similar high-risk and monitoring lists relevant for compliance checks.
Point checks in external registries
Companies House
UK companies and officers by name or number.
GLEIF LEI
Verify a legal-entity name against the global LEI registry. A reference check, not a sanctions list.

Frequently asked questions
What is sanctions screening?
Sanctions screening is checking a person or organisation against official restrictive lists — sanctions, wanted and debarment registers — before entering a relationship. It is a standard first step of compliance and due-diligence checks.
Which lists does WhiteGate check?
The official sanctions lists of the US (OFAC SDN and non-SDN, BIS export lists), the EU, the UN Security Council, the UK, Switzerland, Canada, Australia, France, Japan and Türkiye; the Uzbekistan Prosecutor General forms; Europol and Interpol wanted databases; World Bank debarment; OFAC crypto addresses; the FATF and EU jurisdiction lists; Companies House and GLEIF registries. Optionally — ICIJ Offshore Leaks data and the EveryPolitician politicians register (data up to 2019).
What does a match mean?
A name match is not yet an identification: the lists hold thousands of similar names. A match is confirmed or dismissed by attributes — date of birth, document numbers, registration numbers — which WhiteGate shows for every hit under “Details”.
Is the result legal advice?
No. The absence of matches is not a legal opinion, and results do not establish that a person is free of restrictions. For decisions with legal or financial consequences, verify against the primary sources or seek professional advice.
Important notice Absence of a match is not a legal opinion. Screening results do not establish that a person or entity is not subject to restrictions.

It is meant for personal research, freelance lawyers, journalists, students and anyone who needs a quick preliminary look at official lists. Commercial use of WhiteGate is not permitted.
